Prof. Dr. Sandra Rochnowski is a travel agent, business economist, and professor of general business administration, in particular tourism business administration and sustainable business, with almost 20 years of experience in the hotel industry, sustainable tourism, and applied science. She is the director of the Institute for Sustainability at the Berlin School of Economics and Law, which aims to make a publicly perceived contribution to the sustainable restructuring of global economies and companies.
Her current research interests include sustainable tourism, certification systems in the field of sustainability, corporate social responsibility, the development of new business models, and innovative solutions to the shortage of skilled workers in the hospitality industry in connection with the attractiveness of the employer brand.
Prof. Rochnowski has many years of experience in the operational implementation and further development of environmental management systems according to ISO 14001 and EMAS as well as their auditing according to ISO 19011. She has also developed several certification systems in the field of sustainability, 2021 GreenSpoon from the publishing house Busche, which for the first time the 17 UN Sustainability goal transformed into the hospitality industry. She is an author, speaker, and pioneer for students in the hotel and tourism industry.
