About Climate Week 2024

The 3rd World Conference on Climate Change & Sustainability (Climate Week 2024), is an annual gathering that brings together scientists, business experts, government professionals, and stakeholders from various sectors. The conference serves as a dynamic platform for discussions on the multifaceted aspects of climate change and its intricate relationship with sustainability and global warming. Beyond a traditional scientific conferences, Climate Week 2024 endeavors to transcend disciplines and connect different stakeholder groups and practitioners.

The core theme of Climate Week 2024 is “Tech and Tomorrow: Analysing Progress in Climate Change & Sustainability” to create a vibrant platform for discussions on climate and sustainability societies. The aim is to foster an environment that sparks innovative ideas and lays out clear pathways for their practical implementation. As one of the leading european conference in this field, attendees can expect to delve into the most recent developments and issues related to climate change. This three-day scientific gathering will feature keynote sessions covering a wide spectrum, including the effects of climate change, climate policies (such as clean energy policies), air quality measures, subsidy reform, smart agriculture, sustainable food systems, educational and civil society involvement, nature-based solutions, and more.

Climate Week 2024 has been designed to bring together a diverse range of exploration and case studies from around the world, offers contemporaneous sessions and numerous networking opportunities. Attendees will engage with leading experts from organizations, agencies, business leaders, scientists, global and regional companies, investors, academia, entrepreneurs, and more. The focus is on collaborative efforts to deliberate and mitigate the climate crisis through sustainable business solutions, disruptive technology, and advanced knowledge.

The impacts of climate change, from warming temperatures to changes in precipitation patterns, sea-level rise, and increased vulnerability to extreme weather events, are escalating each year. Alongside efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, scientists and researchers are actively exploring innovative ways to remove and store carbon dioxide—a key area of focus in the fight against climate change. This year’s Climate event aims to inspire visitors by showcasing incredible technologies that, when combined with substantial emission reductions, have the potential to significantly reduce the environmental impact of industries we rely on daily, from transportation and travel to agriculture and construction.

For these compelling reasons, we anticipate a high-quality participation and engaging discussions, especially with the easing of border control measures worldwide. We look forward to welcoming you to Barcelona, Spain!

Importance of Topic

These changes in climate have far-reaching consequences, affecting not only our health but also the ecosystems we rely on. Human-induced climate change is already affecting various weather and extremes climate globally. There are many evidences of climate change like heatwaves, heavy precipitation, droughts, and tropical cyclones, with a growing acknowledgment of their connection to human activities. Projections indicate that climate change will exacerbate the frequency, intensity, and impacts of certain extreme weather events. Taking action to limit global warming to 1.5°C, as opposed to 2°C, could potentially spare around 420 million people from frequent exposure to extreme heatwaves.

The primary focus of Climate Week 2024 is to engage the scientific community toward the next frontier of research—exploring the intricate relationship between earth and climate change. This global conference provides a platform to learn about the latest developments and challenges in areas related to climate change & sustainability. Conference sessions will cover the health co-benefits associated with a broad spectrum of climate policies, spanning clean energy, air quality measures, subsidy reform, smart agriculture, sustainable food systems, educational and civil society involvement, nature-based solutions, and more, during the three-day experts gathering.

The Organising Committee and Scientific Steering Committee of this event extend an invitation to all those actively engaged in addressing climate change and sustainability development. They encourage participants to embrace and build upon the research and climate science presented, integrating perspectives from their respective constituencies. The goal is to make the findings from this conference to the unique contexts of different locations. The conference seeks participation from decision-makers, regulators, experts, scholars, public figures, and stakeholders across Member States, international organizations, industry, academia, and non-governmental organizations involved in nuclear energy, climate change, environment, economic, and social development portfolios. The event anticipates the engagement of invited speakers, who will deliver valuable presentations and/or participate in panel discussions, enriching the collective discourse on climate action.

We cannot succeed in transition alone. Join leaders from science, business, government and sustainability as we tackle climate action head on!

Science Policy Dialogue sessions on latest emerging science and how new information can change sustainability development.

The ONLY forum to deep-dive into case studies in business focused climate action across six key themes: Climate, Energy, Built Environment, Sustainability, Finance, Food and Land Use, and Society and Justice.

Conferences are an invaluable resource to academics beyond just the conference presentations themselves. Many climate and industry professionals just like you have already signed up, expecting to be empowered, educated, and encouraged. Together, we can make 2024 the best year of climate industry and pave the way for a better future for the entire industry.

Climate Week 2024 initiated a great programme for students who have good research, they could choose ‘poster presentation’ or ‘young researchers forum’ options that are available to 3rd World Conference on Climate Change & Sustainability presenters. Through this means, students can gain experience explaining their research to the panel of experts during the session.

We believe that today’s students are tomorrow’s great researchers. For this reason, we have two special recognition grants for young researchers in our Climate Week 2024; the ‘Best Poster Presentation’ award with a value of $300 and the ‘Young Researcher’ award with a value of $500 to one of presenters selected by judges. We hope this will encourage young researchers to do further quality research in the future.

This 3rd World Conference on Climate Change & Sustainability is dedicated to providing useful new information that will aid: research, in-the-field climate study; the climate science – community relationship and climate and carbon policymaking. It would also be dedicated to furnishing new techniques skills and novel ideas to further enhance individual research careers.

Nearly all the participants will be making new contacts that improve their research in climate change, global warming, environment science and related fields. This conference will not be just an avenue for the presentation of research to a wider community, but will also be a venue for brainstorming, networking, and making vital professional connections that can lead to new initiatives, papers and funding, in a way that virtual, online meetings cannot.

Participants will also have the opportunity to publish their research in one of the related journals. Please note that all papers/abstracts accepted for the conferences will be published in the conference proceedings in one of the Journal.

The human brain cannot function at it’s highest level in times of stress and disorganization. A conference is a great opportunity to travel away from daily distractions, clear your mind and get refreshed. We offer you a unique post-conference 1-day city tour with your favorite lunch meal and a 2-days tour from nearby cities to travel across other countries with local travel support and to enhance your craving with a variety of delicious foods. We assure you that you’ll feel relaxed and refreshed when you return to your institution after the conference, new plans and implement new ideas like never before.

Conferences are the perfect time to reconnect with old classmates, colleagues, and mentors. You will undoubtedly have new ideas, experiences and stories to share with each other as you catch up. You will certainly make new friends, but some of your most meaningful business ideas could come from a conversation with someone you have known for years.

Interactive workshops are another benefit of conference attendance. This Climate Week 2024 offers free workshops that are essentially mini-classes where delegates learn new skills and how to use new technologies. Any interested attendee can organize a separate workshop with their colleagues/co-authors/friends/students to demonstrate their individual work/product/services.
Workshops taken in conjunction with conference attendance allow delegates to learn new climate statistics programs, geological mapping, remote sensing skills, climate modeling, atmospheric science, and weather monitoring tools; to name a few. Interactive workshops can substantially advance research, projects, and careers. Some workshops even teach skills that can be used to have a direct impact, such as with renewable energy, ocean acidification, marine mammal rescue or global warming adaptation and mitigation.
